My coworker who may or may not have been abused by her shitty boyfriend is back with him. So much for a “stress leave” from work. I really just want to know what’s going on here.

My boss OFFERED to give me Saturday off. Didn’t even ask. I guess it’s one less person to pay when it’s not busy… but I’d like to think it’s because I’m a good employee. Wedding party in tomorrow, I’m stressed.

Shit

- Yesterday I overheard a client discussing her children with my coworker. The client was saying that they are going to home school their child because they are against immunizations. I took this to mean a) they don’t want the school to force them to immunize their child and b) they want to keep their child away from possible infection due to lack of immunity by keeping him/her away from the general public. Way to fuck up your kids life. Today a client of mine said that they are homeschooling their kids for kindergarden, if not longer. Seriously, what’s wrong with people???

- A coworker of mine has become increasingly annoying and negative. Stupid things like unplugging the new girls blow drier while it’s in use because it was in the wrong socket (it tends to blow a fuse) without explanation, or taking a pen out of my hand when I’m writing something so she can write it when a cup of pens was right in front of her, coming in late every day, asking for clarification about something then getting annoyed at me because she doesn’t get it, going on smoke breaks all the time (which is prohibited) and taking them in stupid places (on the front steps of another salon a couple doors down) etc etc etc I could go on all day. This girl has a fucked up relationship with her boyfriend of seven years and they have been on and off recently, despite my advice to her that she needs to end things. I though her erratic behaviour is either due to being distraught over her relationship or drug induced (I know she has prescriptions for things that I don’t think she really needs). Well turns out it’s both. To try to make a long story short, a coworker saw her with bruises that she refused to explain and saw her taking an excessive amount of pain killers on a day when no one else was working (all this while she was doing her 10 year old nieces hair). Up until now I was really annoyed with her behaviour and letting her personal life interfere with work but now I don’t know what to think since clearly her (now ex) was abusing her. Seemingly they are broken up now and she’s living with her parents, so at least she’s safe.

- On a lighter note, we had a staff party on Friday. Everyone I work with, including my bosses, like to drink and party. There was also weed being smoked. I can’t smoke weed and drink at the same time but I did and to say the least I really really really regretted it the next day as I paid for it with the worst hang over of my life. I also may or may not have made an ass of myself, I don’t really remember. Thankfully the people I work with are all very nice about it all
